Mantachie – Lora Vee Wesson, 89, died Oct. 15, 2009, at the Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Itawamba County to Farris and Ella Hall Brooks. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She enjoyed gardening.
Services were Oct. 17 at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with burial in the Mantachie Cemetery.
Survivors included two daughters, Charlene Pierce (Billy Joe) and Peggy Alvarez (Ed), both of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Barry Joe Pierce of Tupelo, Monica Webb of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jeffrey Webb of San Diego, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin Pierce and Brantley Pierce, both of Starkville, Lexi Lum of New Hope, and Wesson Pierce, Peyton Pierce, and Peri Pierce, all of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Wesson, in 1981; her parents; and a grandson, Billy Joe Pierce Jr.
