Lillie,

The archives in Jackson has death certificates from the 1910s up to 1930s. If you check their website, they have a list of researchers that can do lookups. The library staff also does limited lookups and would probably forward a copy for you. I believe the minimum fee is $15 if you are out of state.

Otherwise, you'll probably have to go through the State Health Department for a certificate.

You might try posting a death certificate lookup request on the Mississippi forum (rather than Hinds County). Someone may oblige and save you the expense.
