FLOWERS, NORRIS, GRIFFITH (GRIFFIETH) AND WILSON
Please let me know if you have any information on the below families.
1860 Santa Rosa County Florida Census
Jesse Flowers, Est. Birth Year 1794, Darlington South Carolina and Martha Ann Flowers, Est. Birth Year 1823, Georgia. Others listed in the household.
A. Wilson, Est. Birth Year 1842, Georgia. I think he is my gggrandfather.
Elizabeth Wilson, Est. Birth Year 1845, Georgia.
Nelly Flowers, Est. Birth Year 1859, Florida
Jesse Flowers is listed as a preacher. Martha Ann was married to Ralph (spelled Raphod on the 1850 FL census) Wilson. Ralph is the father of Alex and Elizabeth Wilson
On the same 1860 census Santa Rosa Florida, there is another family listed next door.

Malinda Norris, Est. Birth Year 1850, Florida, my gggrandmother.
Malinda is the daughter of Notley and Nancy Norris. They are listed on the 1850 census Santa Rosa County Florida, next door to Samuel and Mary Griffith.

According to the census records from 1850 to 1860, Notley Norris and Nancy Norris may have died and their younger children were sent to live with two different Griffith families. Abigail living with J.H. and Milly Griffith (Griffieth) family. There is also a Gideon Norris 9 months old, Est. Birth Year 1859 in Florida, living with J.H. and Milly Griffith on the 1860 census. Malinda Norris went to live with Samuel and Mary Griffith. The odd thing is, I’m wondering now if Oliver Norris and Oliver Griffith is the same person.
THE WILSONS
Alexander Wilson and Malinda Norris are living next door to each other. They get married in 1869. This is were my family line comes into play.
Alex and Malinda had children, as many as 13 and 8 lived according to the census. I’m not sure who they are. My great-grandfather, William Daniel Wilson, I was told is one of their children. I have Dan’s death certificate and it says father is Alex Wilson and mother unknown. I also was told he had a brother, Jake Wilson. I have a copy of Jake’s SSN application. Jake listed has father as Alex Wilson and mother Malinda Norris. The other brother I know about is James Valentine Wilson. All three brothers born in Florida.
Alex and Malinda are on the 1880 Santa Rosa County, Florida census. Other people in the household.
Martha Wilson, 4 years old, born in Florida
James Wilson, 2 years old, born in Florida
Elwida Wilson, 1 year old, born in Florida
I can’t find them again until the 1910 Harrison County, Mississippi census. Alex is 81 years old and Malinda is 57 years old. There are two other people in the household, but I can’t make out their names, one is a grandson, 13 years old, born in Florida and the other is a daughter, 12 years old, born in Florida.
I have more information, that I would love share on the Wilson Family. If you have any information on any of the people I have listed, please contact me.
