Looking for parents of James Osborn Jeffreys Smith.
Born in North Carolina either in Warren County or one of the nearby counties (Person, Granville, Franklin). Probably the son or grandson of one of the Osborn Jeffreys daughters. Moved through Tennessee, and settled in Yalobusha County, MS about 1834. Married a Martha Ann Madden. Children include Dr. J. Mel Smith of Coffeyville, Yalobusha.
