The following information is not proven, but from some Internet research I believe there were two John C. Brewer's father and son who lived in the Greene County MS area from the 1790's through the 1870's. John Sr's father was Hundley Brewer who also lived in the area but is buried in GA. John C. Brewer Jr. was married to Mary Ann Peavy and they moved to Vernon Parish LA. where they and many of thier offspring are buried (including my Grandfather Benjamin Brewer). If this is correct (about the two John C. Brewer's), it means that this line runs back to Sackfield Brewer who came to James City VA in the 1600's. If anyone knows John C. Brewer Sr's wifes name, please let me know - I would like to find out where they are buried and a little more about them.

John C. Brewer Jr. was a private in Company F of the 17th Bn. Cav C.S.A. which later was changed to 9th Cav. Any other information about this Brewer family in the Greene County MS area would be greatly appreciated. - Thanks !!!
