From other research it appears that the John Q. Sandidge, son of Claiborne Sandidge of Elbert Co., GA was named John Quincy Sandidge. He later lived in Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co., TX and also had a son Clabourn "Clay" Sandidge. I am trying to determine the surname of Jane, the wife of the Claiborne Sandidge of Elbert Co. While her name has been widely reported to be Jane Higginbotham, daughter of Samuel Higginbotham and Jane Satterwhite, I have found no proof of that and noted that Claiborne and wife Jane were not among the heirs of Samuel who received distributive shares of Samuel's estate. In Elbert Co. Claiborne Sandidge owned land in 1805 and 1806 which adjoined land of William Higginbotham. For info, my GG Grandfather George W. Eavenson (1817-1898) of Elbert Co., GA had two brothers, Thomas and Willis Eavenson, who moved from Elbert Co. to DeSoto Co., MS in the mid 1850s; and Willis Eavenson's wife was a daughter of Bartley Higginbotham and Tabitha Oliver of Elbert Co. who also moved to DeSoto Co.,
with Bartley being buried in the Eavenson cemetery in Tate Co. I am a GGGG grandson of Samuel Higginbotham and Jane Satterwhite of Amherst Co., VA and Elbert Co., GA.
