Nesbit - CAPTAIN AMOS LAWRENCE CORBITT, JR., 64, died June 24, 2009. Amos was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the USAF World Championship Pistol and Rifle Team in 1966. He gave 33 years of his life on duty with the Memphis Police Department. He leaves his wife, Karen Armstrong Corbitt; sons, Scott Corbitt of Southaven and David (Stacey) Corbitt of Roanoke, VA and daughter, Emily (Jeff) Ort of Kalispell, MT. He will also be missed by his six grandkids. Visitation held at Christ Presbyterian Church at 6860 Craft Rd. in Olive Branch, MS, Thursday, June 25 from 6-8 p.m. Service to be held at the church, Friday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m.
Southaven - DAVID WAYNE "D.W." WILLIAMS, 45, self-employed contractor, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at his home. Mr. Williams was born September 24, 1963 in West Memphis, AR and was a member of the Creed Brotherhood MC and the Big Dawg Hawg BBQ team. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 25 at 6 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4043 Pleasant Hill Road, Olive Branch, MS. Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven has charge of the arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Mari Williams; his mother, B.J. Craddock Williams; two brothers, Randy Williams and Paul Kinney and his wife, Suzanne; two sisters, Susie Elrod and her husband, Jackie and Debbie Owens and her husband, Larry; two nieces, Kimberly Ogerone and Heather Williams and her husband, Justin and their daughter, Neely; and three nephews, Paul Kinney, Blake Elrod and his wife, Jessica and their sons, Austin and Haygen, and Brad Elrod and his wife, Aubrey and their sons, Hunter and Hayes. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Williams and one brother, Donnie Williams.
