Nesbit - CHRIS HADAWAY, 43, Public Utilities Director for the City of Southaven, died June 18, 2009. He was a member of the Nesbit Church of Christ. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Saturday, June 20 at Hernando Funeral Home. Service will be at 12 Noon, Monday, June 22 at Southaven Church of Christ. Burial will be in Desoto Memorial Gardens. He leaves his wife, Michelle Hadaway; daughters, Tristan Hadaway, Christina Hadaway, Morgan Hadaway, brothers James David Hadaway, Tim Hadaway; mother, Patricia Hadaway Brewer, nephews, Timothy and Tyler Hadaway. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh J. Hadaway.


Southaven - ROY ALAN LORENSON, 53, died June 18, 2009 at Baptist Desoto Hospital. Roy was a Christian and was a security guard. Service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 20 at Goodman Oaks Church of Christ. He leaves his wife, Victoria Lorenson of Southaven; mother, Jackie Lorenson of Southaven, son, Joseph Lorenson of Millington, TN, daughter, Ashley Cathey of Niceville, FL, brother, Glen Lorenson of Carrolton, MS, sister, Margaret Dixon of Lucedale, MS; and four grandchildren.



Southaven - John W. Pummill, 79 passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis. Visitation will be Monday, June 22 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Forest Hill South with the service following at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Mr. Pummill was retired from Cherokee Bowling Center. He was a Roller Skating Instructor and Official for over 50 years and serviced pipe organs in the Mid-South area. He was also the founder of Ferrett Rescue of the Mid-South and a Southaven Volunteer Fire Fighter, a member of Southaven United Methodist Church and a member of Horn Lake Blue Lodge Scottish Rite, Desoto Shrine. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Wilma Pummill, one son Johnny Pummill (Audra) of Southaven; three grand-children, Ethan Pummill and Ashley and David Campbell; one sister, Gertrude Virden of Sarasota, Fl; a brother, John Street (Doris) of Vandalia, IL.
