Southaven - LARRY HOLCOMB, 68, retired over the road truck driver, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX. Mr. Holcomb was born February 16, 1941 in New Albany, MS and was a Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of Getwell Road United Methodist Church in Southaven and was a retired teamster for Local #667. Visitation will be Friday, June 19 from 12 p.m. until the service begins at 1:30 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Pinedale Community near New Albany, MS. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Mayhew Holcomb of Southaven; three daughters, Leslie Curran(Glenn) and their son, John of Cedar Hill, TX, Libby Ullo(Greg) and their children, Danny and Abby of St. Louis, MO, and Lori Stone(Glenn) of Hernando, MS; one sister, Darlene Posey(Sam) of Memphis, TN; and 8 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his pa rents, Glen Holcomb and Edna Swords Lambert; and one brother, Jim Holcomb. He was loved and respected by many.
Hernando - PAULA WARDLAW HOLLIMAN, 36, died June 16, 2009. She was a 5th grade school teacher at Oak Grove Elementary in Hernando. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 18 at Carriage Hills Baptist Church, Southaven, where she was a member. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 19 at the church. Interment will be in Hernando Memorial Park Cemetery. She leaves her husband, Kirby Daniel Holliman (Southern Heating and Air) of Hernando; two daughters, Bailie Ann Holliman and Carlie Danielle Holliman, both of Hernando; son, Jackson Lanier Holliman of Hernando; step-daughter, Chelsie Renee Holliman of Strayhorn; parents, Paul and Linda Wardlaw, both of Southaven; sister, Stephanie Renea Pirani of Hernando; brother, Chad Aaron Wardlaw of Hernando; grandmother, Clasteen Ritter Wardlaw of Southaven; father-in-law, Merle Holliman of Hernando; step-mother, Martie Holliman of Hernando; sister-in-law, Jennifer Diane Holliman of Gulfport, MS. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Linda Ann Holliman.
Hernando - Roger Allen Kirkman, 43, passed away Monday June 15, 2009 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. He is survived by his father, John L. Kirkman of Selmer, TN; his mother, Glenda Garver of Marion, AR; his fiancee, Wendy Turner of Hernando, MS; two sons, Jacob Kirkman of Locust Grove, GA and Jarred Kirkman of Olive Branch, MS; his daughter, Melanie Kirkman of Hernando, MS; two sisters, Rebecca Walker of Marion, AR and Kimberly Kirkman of Selmer, TN; his brother, Richard Kirkman of Marion, AR and his nieces and nephews, Hannah, Rachel, Kassidy, Kandace, Kyleigh and Caleb. The visitation will be Wednesday June 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, AR with the service Thursday June 18 at 10 a.m. and a graveside service at 3 p.m. in Liberty Cemetery in Crump, TN with interment following.
