Although there have been two fires in the courthouse and probably not many records exist, do not give up until you or someone you trust goes there yourself. We were told (as was a certified genealogist )that certain records were destroyed in fires.... upon investigation we found many had survived! You may not find the marriage cert, but you might find other evidence of marriage, ie probate that "burned" as well! Be on the lookout for misplaced documents and mispellings as well... good luck!
