Wayne, I am very interested in the letters your have that were penned by John Franklin Cole.He is my 4th g grandfather. Also, do you have anything on his wife, Lucy Pleasant Critttenden? Sd to be a Cherokee Indian from No GA.Quite a few of this surname went on the trail to OK. Early on, my Lucy/family of Thomas? Had moved from NC into NO GA when free land was offered. Well, we all know how that turned out. Gov backed out at some point & told them they were supposed to move on the trail to OK, but some of the fams went south into MS & LA. All of those northern GA lands were put in the Land Lottery as abandoned lands.
Susannah Cole & Wash Lee were also my grandparents (3rd great).Have more info if you're interested. Could you send me the letters as an attachment? I'm abt 1/2 literate on this computer. Thanks for any consideration.
