I and a cousin of mine have been researching our Freeman and Lee ancestors. In particular John(?Daniel) Freeman b.abt. 1800 d.after 1870 in (?)La : his sons William R., Evan Gilbert, Michael Daniel, Francis M., Harvey and Louis. Some of John Freeman's sons served in the civil war as members of the 46th MS Infantry Regiment,Company B and possibly his son William R. served with with the 27th,Company G. Our great grandfather Louis Freeman(b. 1848 Morgan Alabama) was too young to serve.
Also the Lee family of Seborn(varied spellings) Lee and Mary Ann Driman and their daughters Martha(Tew), Laura (Sullivan) and Mary Ann Melissa (Freeman). Our search has lead us to census records of 1860 of Ocoha Covington Mississippi. We are searching for any knowledge of a cemetery named Oakohay. We believe it to be north of Hot Coffee, MS and south of Taylorsville (Smith) Mississippi. We believe some of the Freeman and Lee family may be buried there. We are only going by land and census records that place these families in the Oakohay cemetery area. Any help with these families and the Ocoha Covington Mississippi location please contact me. Thanks!
