This book has been a great resource, but it also has numerous mistakes (as it is a large undertaking for individuals who can't have thorough personal knowledge of every single family). I have found several leads in the book myself, but of course everything should be taken "with a grain of salt" until further documented. In this case, Amanda Carter was not the second wife of Hardy Broom, but was his only wife. (I believe she was the daughter of Marcus Elam, based on several pieces of strong circumstantial evidence). Also, Lydia Carter was a Williams, not a Williamson (dau. of Nathan Williams and Lucy Echols). Again, the book is a helpful source for general searching.
