I know of one cemetery on the Sunflower River. It is located on an Indian mound on the Dulany Farm out of Clarksdale. New Africa Road comes out of Clarksdale to the Dulany Farm and I believe the cemetery is on Sun Flower School Road. My husband's grandfather, James Jackson and grandmother Susie Alexander, are buried there along with other family members. We have been to the cemetery several times and this past March, 2012 it was so grown with weeds that you could not get into the cemetery. A fence was built around it several years ago by a family member but the weeds have grown so it is impossible to get into now. There are a few markers you can see above the weeds.When we were able to get inside the fence we found many of the markers turned over and broken. The cemetery was referred to as Edwards Cemetery as the land at one time was own by PM Edwards. I would like to know if anyone has a list of the people buried there and information on Alexander's or Jackson's. There is one more cemetery not far from this one. It is located on private property and very small but very well kept.
