I have a John Robert Whitaker, born 10/7/1839 died 9/12/1920, married 7/26/1868 to Mira H. Christopher b. 1848. I believe they had 5 children: William Whitaker born 1869; Emma Whitaker born 1878, David M. Whitaker b. 1880, James Whitaker b. 1881, and Lemuel Whitaker b. 1882.

On 12/28/1887 this same John Robert Whitaker married E. Jane Nixon. Their children: Rebecca A b. 1890; Jefferson D. b. 1892; John C. b. 1895; Jessie Allen b. 1897 and Luella b. 1899.

I think that John Robert Whitaker and wife E. Jane Nixon are buried at Hebron Cemetery, north of Pheba, MS.

John Robert Whitaker was son of John Whitaker and Nancy Ann Elizabeth Wood. I think that John Whitaker died in Alabama and Nancy Wood Whitaker died in Webster Co, MS. She is buried at Old Cumberland Cemetery in Webster Co, MS. My Great Great Grandfather, Alexander W. Whitaker, was brother to this John Robert Whitaker.

I am researching this Whitaker family and would appreciate any information you have on them as well as any connection they had to the Morgan family. Josie Suggs Fannon
