Bettie-
Among the first families to settle in Clay Co., MS would be
that of Charles W. Bean, B. 1860, M, 1889 d. 1959. Married to Sarah Emma Gilreath in MS., they lived all their lives in Clay Co., where they had 9 children. Grandfather William was the son of W.A. Bean, b.1829. possibly in Clay Co. At one time, there were scores of BEANS in Clay Co.
