While researching a family from the Enterprise area of Clarke Co I found a reference to an Enterprise Academy established in the Enterprise area about 1845 by Thomas Woolverton, John McRae and others. Thomas Woolverton and John J McRae also operated a steamboat service on the Chickashaway river. John J McRae was later a governor of Mississippi. I didn't write down the source but beleive it was a type written, loose leaf manuscript in an area library.
