I am researching The McQurter/McQuirter Side of my family This is what I do have so far: James F McQuirter (b-abt -1849) married Elizabeth Bettie Ivey (b-abt 1861) 1900 Census states James and Elizzie have been married 21 years (1879). Also states that of 8 children born, 6 are still living in 1900 so according to my list I have "lost a few" as two in my list are born after 1900 The children that I have linked to them are: Lula O McQurter abt 1878 Robert L McQurter abt 1888 in Mississippi William Lon McQurter 26 Dec 1893 in Mississippi Henry Franklin McQurter Aug 5 1894 in Mississippi Frances P McQurter abt 1896 in Clarke, Mississippi Alice E McQurter abt 1898 in Mississippi Dora McQurter F 1901 in Mississippi Carrie McQurter 1 June 1903 in Mississippi I have Lula marrying Henry Andreson (b-abt 1873) With these children attached: Lela M Anderson abt 1904 in Mississippi Henry Jr Anderson 1906 Hubert H Anderson 1910 Howard M Anderson abt 1910 in Mississippi Elsa D Anderson 1912 Robert with no wife (yet) Henry marrying first wife Carrie Maiden name unknown (born abt 1897 Oklahoma Children: Gladys McQurter abt 1914 in Mississippi William McQurter 23 Jun 1917 in Mississippi. He died In Georgia Frances(she died in Georgia in 1927) marrying a John Gurley Unknown if they had children Alice marrying a Hewitt then a Sheppard. She also died in Georgia Unknown what children Dora with no husband yet no date nor place of death Carrie marrying Phil Ransom no date of death yet, but place maybe Georgia William Lon who is my great grandfather having a child, My grandfather William Daniel, by Annie Pearl Tindal Born abt 1893 in Missississippi) in 1912. It is thought that they never married. I have a bible with the inscription that it was given to my grandfather, by HIS grandfather, Joe Tindle. I havent been able to locate a Joe Tindle,Tindall, or any other spelling as of yet. I am assuming that perhaps Joe may have been his middle name. I do know that Lon, Henry, Robert once workek at a cotton mill in Stonewall in 1910 (Census report information) and then moved to Bibb City (Now Columbus Georgia) to work inthe Bibb mill there. I have Census reports and WWI draft records for information. I know that Frances diedin 1927 in West Point Georgia (another Mill Location and not far from Columbus) I have a copy of her death certificate. The informant on the death record is her sister Alice, who at that time was married to a Sheppard, she later died in Atlanta Georgia as a Hewitt (Obit for Lon list her as only living sibling in 1977) I believe that Lula and her family with Anderson remained in Mississippi, along with Carrie, and Dora The name Mcquirter has been spelled 3 different ways with in it's own branches, for 1 reason known, and the other unknown. My Grandfather Dan, spelled it MacQuirter, Lon and his brothers and sisters spelled it McQurter, James and his siblings spell it McQuirter I have James F's Father and Family listed as: James McQuirter (b-abt 1822 in Tennessee marrying Mary (maidan name unknown B-abt 1823 in Alabama) Children: Name Sex Birth Lucinda McQuirter abt 1844 in Alabama William H McQuirter abt 1846 in Mississippi Mary F McQuirter about 1848 in Mississippi James F McQuirter abt 1849 in Mississippi I have Lucinda marrying Benjamin Payne Children: Julia Payne F 1865 Nora Payne F 1868 Georgia Payne Apr 1871 Eddie Payne 1875 Alice Payne 1877 Bennie Payne 1879 Lonnie T Payne 4 May 1880 William marrying Margret E Grismley Children: Dora McQuirter 1875 Robert Lee McQuirter 1877 Mary Francis McQuirter 1879 Mary with no husband I am researching all the branches and any additional information would be so appreciated. Especially concerning Joe Tindle, my great great grandfather's family And Elizabeth Bettie Ivy's family. Thank you, Crickett Benefield Notify Administrator about this message?
