Martha Tennessee Potts, born 16 October 1828, is buried in the Old Concord Cemetery in southern Choctaw County. This cemetery is at the site of the original location of Concord Baptist Church, and it was in northern Winston County until the shift in county lines in the 1870s. The current Concord Baptist Church and Cemetery are a few miles northeast of the old cemetery. The old cemetery is well maintained. The graves of your Martha Tennessee Potts and her husband are among several marked by large marble box tombs.

The 1960s book of Winston County cemetery inscriptions lists Martha's death date as 22 March 1851. The 1990s book of Winston County cemetery inscriptions lists her death date as 22 March 1854. The 1854 date is the correct year of her death. It is rather difficult to distinguish between the numbers 1, 4, and 7 on some of the old marble engravings.
