Thank you Fran, I really appreciate this.
I have a land grant and an 1840 Census Record for Wiley Thomas or W.T. McKee (one time they spelled it Wilie) in Choctaw Co., MS.
He was born in 1808 in GA. I am looking to find his parents too. I discovered there was an Alexander McKee in Choctaw Co., in 1840 too, but I can't see his age to know if it could be his father. I'm grasping at straws here to find something. I do know Wiley has 3 brothers. John Samuel, Joseph Spicer, and William Allen. John Samuel was the oldest born in 1802 in SC. I don't know where Joseph Spicer was born, but My Wiley Thomas, and William Allen were both born in GA. I have a copy of Wiley Thomas in Oktibbetha Co. in 1850, married to a Margaret ?, with their children. I understand Choctaw and Oktibbetha are both now Webster Co.
If you have any of the Wake Forest Cemetery records, I have heard they may be buried there, but there may not be a stone.
If you have any other information on this family, I would love to have it. You can also send messages directly to me if you choose to: Family2tree@yahoo.com and we won't have these long messages here.
Thanks again so very much,
