John W. Hodges was my great, great, great, grandfather. His son Malaki ( who later in life was know simply as "Ab") was my great, great, grandfather. Malaki was married twice and fathered 10 sons and one daughter. One of his sons, Thomas Benjamin, was my great grandfather.

In the census of 1850 John W. Hodges is listed as being 48 years old, and being from S.C. If this is the same man whose decendents are listed in the back of the book "Greenwood County Sketches" then his dad was also named John and fought in the revolutionary war.

Census records can be confusing sometimes. For example, in 1860 John W. Hodges, who was listed as 48 years old in the 1850 Census, is listed as 34 years old. However, the age of his wife, Mariah, is listed somewhat in line with the 1850 census.

Does anyone know where John W. Hodges who died before 1870 is buried?
