Joseph Marvin Cummings was born in Polk County, Texas to William B. and Amanda B Cummings. William and Amanda were both born in Texas.

William's father was listed as born in Texas and his mother as born in Mississippi according to the 1900 US Census, but I have not yet found anything further on them.

That same Census page also shows Amanda's parents Miles S. and Nancy Parker. The Parkers were from Alabama, but moved to Texas before 1865 when Amanda was born. Miles may have served in the 22 Texas Infantry on the Confederate side if information I have found online is correct. Further research must be done.

Is there a chance you could scan and email the Wilson family photo to me?
