I am sure that somehow your Sims family were related to the Sims I have in my files.
I have a Charles M. Sims who married Nancy Ann Eakin in 1856 in Attala Co.,Ms. The Eakin family is my line of research.
The father of Charles M. Sims was Gray Sims.
Nancy Ann Eakin Sims is buried at Carson Ridge Cemetery.
Gray Sims and his wife Rebecca had 7 children , Charles M., James Martin, Littlepage [b.1826] , Callie, Rebecca, Martin Jackson, and Jefferson Gray.
Do not have very much on the Sims name.
Hope this is of help.
