Abigail Wakefield Rice

Abigail Wakefield Rice was reportedly born on 21 October 1809 in Canada (possibly Quebec). The names of her parents are unknown but it is suspected that her mother (or possibly her grandmother)was a Wakefield. The family migrated from Canada to Mississippi probably between 1810 and 1824. Family legend has it that the entire family perished (from yellow fever) except for Abigail, who in 1825 married William R. Ratcliff in Amite County, Mississippi, after "being raised by a family by the name of Richards." No other (Rice) family members are known to exist. Abigail and her entire family moved to Yazoo County, Mississippi around 1830 and then to Texas in 1839. Abigail died on 18 December 1881 in Texas. It is not known exactly where the Rice family died, but possibly around the Natchez, Mississippi, area. I am searching for any clues as to Abigail's parents and where they came from.
