Mary, if you haven't gone to Liberty yet, another good place to check for early Liberty Newspapers is the McComb, Miss Library. They have a very nice Genealogy Room with newspapers on microfilm, including early Liberty ones. The Archives in Jackson is a wonderful place, but many of their films are badly worn from repeated usage and hard to read. McComb's library also has a book called "Gone But Not Forgotten" it is a work by Helen O'Rourke of newspaper obits, etc of the old Pike and Amite papers. It hasa nice index and can point you to the full story on the film.
Happy Hunting,
Bill Farnham
