COCKERHAM-Amite Co. Teacher's Contract
Posted by: Ganesa Date: October 14, 2000 at 20:58:50

Hi,
I have in my posession copies of a Teacher's Contract dated July 10,1874 between Amite Co. & my ancestress Mollie Cockerham. There are two versions of the document one is a memorandum and the other is a certificate from the Office of the County Superintendent of Public Education dated the same signed by William? B. Redmond (County Superintendent)
and Samuel Cockerham X his mark (teacher).
I believe the Samuel listed is Mollie's uncle/guardian. She would be underage at the time of this contract. I do not know who Mollie's parents were. How can I use this document to find out more information?

Thank you,
Ganesa
