Ozella Richardson Betts, 86, died May 8, 2008, at her home. She attended and graduated from Corinth City Schools. She received a bachelor’s degree in Education from Rust College. She did her post graduate work at Tuskee Institute and Wayne Universtiy. She was a teacher in the Corinth City Schools for over 40 years. She was active in the NAACP, Cosmo Club, American Legion Auxiliary and Retired Teachers Association. An active member of Macedonia MB Church from childhood to her death. She always loved to work with the children in church. She received many honors.
Services were at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in National Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors included two sons, Reginald Betts and Charlie W. Betts Jr.; one daughter, Jacqueline (Donald) B. Murry; nephews, nieces, cousins, and beloved caregivers, Doris Patterson and Betty Fry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie W. Betts Sr.; parents, Osby and Vera Richardson; one brother, Rhodes H. Richardson.
