James Travis Hillis, 80, died May 7, 2008 at his residence. He was born Feb. 18, 1928, to Emmett and Reamer Hillis. He was a retired millwright worker, served in the US Army, was of the Pentecostal faith, he enjoyed going to yard sales, auctions and baseball. He also enjoyed listening to Larry England, Joe Rickman and Roy Cummings, loved his bird and never met a stranger.
Services were at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Corinth National Cemetery.
Survivors included his wife Mary S. Hillis of Corinth; one daughter, Brenda Hillis of Corinth; two sisters, Lorene Cook of Memphis, Tenn, and Sue Suggs of Mayfield, Ky.; grandchildren, Belinda (Chuck) Mathis of Corinth, Sherry Jones of Burton, Wendall Huggins of Corinth; great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
