Charles J. Blanton, 95, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at his home. He was born April 3, 1913, in Alcorn County to Frank and Vonecy Stevenson Blanton. He was a retired carpenter.
Services were at Corinthian Funeral Home with burial in the Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors included one son, Charles M. Blanton (Kay) of Corinth; one brother, T.C. Blanton of Paragould, Ark.; one sister, Ethel Franks of Glen; his grandchildren, Randy Blanton (Mistie), Janet Blankenship (Marty) and Sharlene Giles (Scott), all of Paragould, Ark.; his great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vera E. Blanton; six brothers, John Blanton, Willie Blanton, Cot Blanton, Judge Blanton, Jim Blanton and George Blanton; and one sister, Eva Phillips.
