Mamie Manning, 97, died April 28, 2008, at Whitfield Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 17, 1910, in Alcorn County to John and Effie Woodruff Smith. She worked as a salesclerk for Smith Hardware and Variety. She was the oldest member of West Corinth Tabernacle.
Services were at the West Corinth Tabernacle with burial in Henry Cemetery. Corinthian Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included one sister, Nell Medley of Corinth; a special niece, Jaye Smith of Corinth; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Manning; a sister, Edna Morgan; and three brothers, Buck Smith, Tom Smith and Clarence Smith.
