Earl Kennedy James, 86, died April 13, 2008, at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth. He was born Aug. 30, 1921, to James Marion James and Linnie Collier James. He was a member of Walnut Church of Christ. He was a businessman, active in church and civic activities, and was a key negotiator in procuring the Walnut Industrial Park. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He loved his family and friends, and was known and respected by all.
Services were at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in James Family Cemetery.
Survivors included his wife, Ila Smith James; one daughter, Barbara James Beavers of Walnut; three sons, Kenny Earl James (Sheron), Greglon Clark James (Tena) and Timothy Lane James (Kim), all of Walnut; 12 grandchildren, Joey Doyle, Kim Huddleston (Mike), Alicia Doyle, Mark James (Jennifer), Johnathan James, Caleb James, Candice Still (Josh), Jesse James, and Amelia James, all of Walnut, Michelle Graves (Ray) of Ripley, Amanda Wilburn (Cory) of Corinth, and Joshua James (Tonya) of Glen; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and four brothers.
