Edith Bass, 91, died March 20, 2008, at Cornerstone Health and Rehab. She was born May 5, 1917, in Alcorn County to James and Verdie Bass. She was a homemaker.
Services were at Overton Hill Church with burial in the church cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Corinth was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two daughters, Faye Nails and Shirley Rowland (James); three sons, Jack Bass (Vernall), James Bass (Mary) and Terry Bass (Sue) of Walnut; a daughter-in-law, Edith Bass of Corinth; grandchildren, Greg Rowland (Tammy), Rita Wilbanks (Johnny), Johnny Nails (Kathy), Becky Nails, Lisa Nails, Teresa Nails, Jason Bass (Melody), Robin Bass, Terry Bass Jr., Billy Bass, Diane Baldwyn (Bob); 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonzie Bass; a son, Ray Bass; a son-in-law, Tommy Nails; a brother, Haig Bass; and a sister, Tootsie Swindle.
