William Lester Bright, 94, died March 9, 2008, at the Tippah County Hospital. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and a farmer. He was a member of Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 250 at Chalybeate. He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed hunting and lecturing other lodge members about masonry. He was always willing to help others when the need arose.
Services with Masonic rites were at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home of Corinth was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included one son, Dillman Lee Bright of Walnut; two daughters, Vernell Bass (Jack) and Lynn Mills (Leland), both of Walnut; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jean Bright of Walnut.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elsie Hicks Bright; a son, Kenneth Bright; a grandson, Terry Bright; his father, Lamar “Bob” Bright; his mother, Alice Mullins Bright; three brothers, John Wesley Bright, Caleb Bright and Bob Bright; three sisters, Carlie Hines, Carrie Crum and Velma Jones; and a daughter-in-law, Martha Bright.
