We recently received a scrapbook that seems to place my wife's grandfather's family (Riley or Reilly)in Natchez, MS from the early 1860's until 1880 or so. In our research I've learned that "The Natchez Democrat", a local newspaper, has been in publication since at least 1870. They have a web site with contact info at

Good luck with your detective work.
