In my family, I have a Judge George Alonzo Snyder, born about 1818 in MS according to the 1850 Federal Census when he and his family were living in Madison Parish, LA. He married Clara S. King of Claiborne County who had first married Thomas Calvit Bieller. In 1844 Snyder opened a law practice with James Dunlap in Richmond, LA. Later he practiced with Judge David S. Stacy. During the Civil War he was taken prisoner by the Union troops and held prisoner at Rock Island Prison Camp in Illinois. He was released after several months. No trace of him after that. His wife died in San Diego in 1901 & is buried there. I would be interested in any Snyder info you might have as I have many of Alonzo's momentos.
