From the copyrighted Killian Family History see the following page: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/k/i/l/Ed-R-Killian/GENE3-0007.html#CHILD7 Read about Buckles' will and his father. Sources are casually mentioned. Wills and Probate information are available at the Adams County Courthouse, Natchez, MS. If Abraham Senior's will is not in Amite County, then the will might be in Woodville, MS at that courthouse. Amite county was split from that county when it was formed about 1805. There are no "Vital Records" prior to about 1920. Such information on existences must be had from censuses, wills, probate and conveyances. There are at least two, contemporary, "A. H. Buckholts (Buckholtz)", one of which was, as I recall, Abel Hodge Buckholts in addition to a Abraham H. Buckholts. The Buckholtz, Buckholts and Buckles surnames reflect, to a certain degree, the abilities of the local court clerks and their ability (or lack thereof) in spelling. Abram Buckles actually changed ("Americanized") his name. What is on line is all I have. Regards.... Notify Administrator about this message?
