Jonathan Houston (J. H.) & Lizzie (L. F.) Davis

Hope to find additional information on Jonathan Houston DAVIS (1853 Lawrence Co., MO - ?) & his wife Lizzie FIELDS (c1860 MO - 1916 Buried Zurhellen Section Natchez City Cemetery). They were married 1881 in Boone Co., MO.

Their son William Province DAVIS (1884 - 1891 died of Diptheria, buried Fields Section Natchez City Cemetery)

Don't know if there were other children.

J. H. & L. F. were both teachers (later principals) at the Natchez Female College at "Melmont" and Jonathan also worked as a reporter and editor for the Natchez Banner. The 1892 Natchez City Directory lists their residence as Clifton Heights.

I've tried searching the 1900 census, but gave up after multiple districts as really don't know what area they lived in.

Jonathan isn't listed as buried in Natchez City Cemetery, so am wondering what happened to him. He was the younger brother of my 2nd G Grandmother.

Any information would be most appreciated.

Vicki Peterson
