Hi Martin, or whomever,
I am trying to find information on the history of the Mrazek name. Anything would be greatly appreciated as this is one of my most underdeveloped family tree branches.
My great grandmother, Julia, died when my grandmother was just a child so my grandma doesn't know much about her heritage. My grandma is Mary/Maria Lancy/ Lacny/ Bellotti. Her mother was Julia. Julia married Jan Lacny / John Lancy in Pennsylvania. Julia's maiden name is listed as Sadler on the marriage certificate. I am under the impression that Sadler/Seidler was her mother's second husband's (Fred) last name. So Fred was her stepfather.
We think Julia's mother (Genovefa/Genevieve/Jenedefa) came over to the U.S. with her three children, Julia, Anthony, and Mary (or local equivalents of these names). We think the father of Julia, Anthony, and Mary was Frank (or something more traditional) Mrazek. Perhaps he died in Europe and Gen came to America a widow.
No one was ever sure how to spell Julia's maiden name. Mrazek and Mazerak are two spellings that have been used, but my grandma pronounces it Mrazek.
Basically, Julia, brother Anthony, sister Mary, and mother Jenedefa Mrazek, and maybe Frank as the father.
Thanks so much!
