"ELLEN" MCGINNIS July 12, 1868 in Bartow Co., Ga., daughter of JAMES MCGINNIS and LEAH PRUITT. She was born March 12, 1843 in Gwinnett Co., Ga., and died September 16, 1918 in Lithia Springs, Douglas Co., Ga..

Lived in Douglas Co., Ga. Co. K , 41st Ga. Inf. CSA. private March 4, 1862. He was wounded in the left arm at Perryville, Ky. October 8, 1862. He was wounded in the left thigh and arm, and permanently disabled at Jonesboro, Ga. August 31, 1864. He was captured and parolled at Augusta, Ga. May 24, 1865. Records state that he was a resident of Georgia since April 22, 1841. They had 6 Children.
Applied for CSA pension.

Cora's father married Martha Jane Mozley, dau. of Miles Garth and Sarah Humphries after Cora's mother died.
In a letter dated 2/18/1968, Lucille Huffman is asking Esma to give her the dates and such of "Uncle Jim" and "Aunt Cora's" family. Here Cora's middle initial is "D." and her date of birth is listed as 3-30-1875.
