I have read with interest all the entries on the Mozena forum. I think I am descended from these people, and am hoping someone can tell me how. It's a long story. My 3rd ggrandmother was Eliza ? who married John Wilson. She was born in VA in about 1824. They lived in Knox twp, Guernsey Co, Ohio in 1850, and then in Linton twp, Plainfield village, Coshocton Co, Ohio in 1860. John Wilson had died about 1855, leaving Eliza with 8 children (James Bukey, John Wesley, Dias Neel, Thomas Hutchison, Eliza Anne, Lavina M, Henrietta "Hattie," and Lucy Alice. I believe I have found then on the 1840 census living in Tuscarawas Co, Mill twp, living near Hiram Mozena.
Recently I found Eliza's daughter's death cert (Lavina Wilson Derr) which listed her mother's name as Eliza Mazania. A son's death cert. says it was Eliza Smith. So I was really interested to find the family in 1840 living near Hiram Mozena and two Smith families, headed by Samuel Smith and William Smith. One more interesting thing is that also living near was Fleming Bukey. That is interesting because Eliza named her first son James Bukey Wilson. So I think there are too many coincidences here for this to not be Eliza's family. But I don't know which family is her parents. Does anyone know anything about this? Thank you. Patricia Gausnell
