The National Parks Service Soldiers & Sailors database
http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/
lists 6 months' service for an H. Moyle in Co C of the 1st NC Infantry, which seems to correspond with the following listing for an H. Moyle in the NC Troops volumes:
H Moyle, Enlisted as a Private on 20 April 1861 at the age of 16;
Enlisted in Company C, 1st Infantry Regiment North Carolina on 20 April 1861.
Mustered out Company C, 1st Infantry Regiment North Carolina on 12 November 1861.

I believe this to be the Henry Moyle, infant, who arrived in New York 25 Oct 1848 on the Bark Elizabeth, which had sailed from Bristol, with apparent parents Matthew & Elizabeth, and older sibling, John. Traveling with them appear to be my ancestor, Elizabeth Jenkins, her daughter Mary Ann, several of Elizbeth's siblings, and also John Davis & Thomas Tralener/Tralear, who seem to be in the 1850 Gold Hill, Rowan Co, NC, household of Matthew & Eliza Moyle.

Elizabeth Jenkins' husband, William, was already in Gold Hill, NC, in 1848 and Elizabeth and Mary Ann were now joining him. William Jenkins & Matthew Moyle were mining captains who worked together in the mines at Gold Hill, NC....and perhaps together in Cornwall.

Hope this helps. I've collected other Moyle data in the course of my Jenkins & Richards research and am happy to pass it along to Moyle researchers.
