I missed the last family reunion cause I was in the military and had to work. It was in Oak City, NC. The last Reunion I made it to, I was about seven years old and it was for the Council Family. I was also told our name was French and from our slave master. Where I work, there is a Sgt. Moye and a lot of the younger soldiers ask us all the time if we are married or related. We call each other cousin everytime we see each other. Other than my Grandad Henry and My uncle Mike (I think EVERYONE has an uncle Mike!) my whole family looks mixed. I've come across a lot of whites with the name also, mostly in variations like Moyer or Moy. That's why I make it a firm point not to judge people by color cause for all I know, i'm saying something bad about myself in more ways than one.
