I am 8 generations from Roger Mourning. I live in Colchester Illinois only a couple of miles from the "Mourning" Cemetery, and have visited there many times. It is located beside the Friendship Methodist Church. I'm not sure why it is actually called the "Mourning" cemetery as there are only a few graves of Mourning family members. However they are all located together on the west side of the church building. The rest of the cemetery is located on the east side and is larger by far. There has been a W.H. Mourning in Colchester since around the 1850's and unless my son has a son ( he now has a daughter 3 yrs.) and decides to name him W.H. then my son will be the last of the Mourning name to survive here.
Since I just ran into this site tonight I need to look over some of the information that I have here. I have some family bibles and some other information that may be of interest to you. Perhaps we can add some information to what you already have or we may have just duplicate facts.
