This is what I have found on your Bud Mounts.
His real name was Mike Mounts son of Elijah Mounts br. abt. 1851 and Nancy (Robinett) Mounts br. abt. 1851. Mike (Bud) married Columbia Mahon on Jan. 1895 in Logan Co. What is give on the marriage license is she was the daughter of V. Hatfield and S. Mahon. Both Mike (Bud) and Columbia gives their birthdays as 1870. Elijah Mounts was the son of William Mounts who married Mary Blankenship both of whom were born abt. 1820. William Mounts was the son of David C. Mounts and Margaret (Cline) Mounts. David and Margaret were married in 1813 Montgomery Co Va. David gives his birth place as South Caroline. Margaret was the daughter of Peter Cline born 1756 most likely in Germany and Elizabeth ?. Peter Cline fought in the Rev. War and was living in Berks Co. Penn. where he joined the service. Peter moved down through Va into Montgomery where he stayed from around 1786 to 1813 when he and his family along with David Mounts to Pike Co. Ky where he moved at times across the Tug River in to what is now WV. Peter died around 1843 and is buried somewhere close to Matewan, WV.

Hope this is of help.
