connection between Blount and Mountjoy

Hi all -

Perhaps you can answer a question that has puzzled me for quite some time. What is the connection between the Blount family who long carried the *title* of Mountjoy and the family whose surname is Mountjoy?

While I have not yet figured out how to do internet research of British families, I have some familiarity with the various historically known Blounts. I am also descended from Edward Mountjoy of Biddestone Manor, Chippenham, Wiltshire Parish. Born in 1660, he emigrated to VA. 'My' branch of his descendents emigrated to KY, IL, NE and finally to my grandfather's homestead near Lonepine, MT.

Any information on this connection, as well as accurate lineages back to France would be quite fascinating. I am limited to internet sources, though.

Thank you

Aspen Mountjoy
