John apparently we are shirt tail cousinsLOL.
My G-G-G-Grandmother was sisted to Jesse and Daughter of James Mountain. She became a Surber. They moved from Wash. Co. Va. To Warren Co. Iowa in the 1850s. There are a lot of Surber cousins in Va. and Iowa it would appear I'm only recently finding out myself. I live in Ca.I'm a big Civilwar buff
so I would love to hear anything about family in the war especially in the Cavalry
(that's the main area of my interest) I had
g g grandfathers in the 5th Tenn inf. 2nd Cherokee Mounted rifles on the Conf.side and
18th Iowa inf. and 9th Kan. Cav. on the Yankee side and counting. Would love to hear from any family nomatter how distant a cousin.Mike Surber
