My grandmother has James Henry listed as Josephine's father(with no additional birth dates or firm parentage). It does look like they traveled a bit and I am having trouble finding them in any census records other than the 1860, and at that time James/Henry is not around.

My grandmother has a marriage date for Rachel and James Henry as 24 Dec 1837, which fits with when the kids start being born. Unfortunately, no location. Gay, I tried to use the IGI but am getting no results so not sure if I am doing correctly. Can you help?

The other clue that may indicate that Rachel's husband was at least "called" Henry is on Josephine Moulthrop Gillette's death information at the Oak Grove Cemetery database: http://resource.scccld.lib.mo.us/cemetery/

Her parents on that are listed as Henry and Rachel.

Please let ne know if you find out any info.

Thanks!
Tiffany
