Dear Yvonne,
I have now been able to complete a number of enquiries about my Moulson forebears.
The Miles Moulson 1909 you identify is indeed the father of Miles Moulson 1838.The surprise is that the "1809" Miles is, in fact, the celebrated 1806 Miles Moulson whose memorial is a listed item in Undercliffe Cemetery. This is confirmed by the inclusion of his wife, Mary, Son David and daughter Sarah on the Memorial.Almost certainly the Stone was erected and paid for by his son David. A stonemason like his father, he was identified in a Census as an "employer of 28 men and 2 boys". Miles 1838 produced amongst others Webster Moulson 1871-1950 whose only son Miles 1892 died in the Battle of the Ancre 13th - 18th November 1916, fighting with the 1/7th Battalion Gordon Highlanders. Miles 1892 married Alice DeCourcy in 1913 and had a son Jack in 1913 who married in 1938 and produced Miles Moulson in 1940 who I think is still alive in the Bradford area. Webster was my great grandfather on my mother's side.
