Dear Anne:
I have been searching for genealogical information regarding a Thomas Mott who was born in New York, and married a Selina Blount in Savannah, Georgia. I do not have my notes in front of me regarding the year; but it was mid-19th Century.Thomas Mott worked for a great, great-aunt of mine, Mrs. Ann Ellen Morrell, who had a moving/storage business in Savannah. I believe that Selina Bount is a relative of mine, and therefor, I am researching her and Thomas Mott. Both of them were listed in a family bible of Ann Ellen Morrell. I was born in Savannah, Ga. I do not know if this information is of any help to you. When next I go to our public library and go through Savannah's 1860 federal census, I will see what the census says about Thomas Mott and family. He is listed as living in the same dwelling as Ann Ellen's family in Savannah - Lot # 34. Savannah has excellent records going back to Colonial Days in Georgia. If you are near Savannah, you may wish to go to the main library research room and to the Georgia Historical Society.
Sincerely,
Carole H. Melson, Marietta, Georgia USA.
