Hans Jacob Matsinger, Jr.(Did He Have More Children?)
Hang on to your seats !!!!!!!!!
I am currently working on other children of Hans Jacob Matsinger Jr.(Motsinger) who were born in PA. I also now have proof that Jacob was living in November of 1766 in PA. Note: In 1763, Felix, Jacob's son, had already purchased land in Rowan County, NC and was still a landholder in Berks and Northampton Counties in PA. Earlier, I believed that Jacob was killed in an Indian skirmish near Fort Augusta in 1763. As it turns out, he survived the attack and was able to relate to his children the whereabouts of the cannon used at the old fort. The cannon was moved to Muncy and not returned to the fort until 1774, when at this time it was thrown into the river and rescued by Jacob's grandson, his namesake, Jacob "Mantz". This Jacob's father is Conrad. Conrad's will was proved March 11,1792. I have also located a sister to Felix and Conrad, Barbara. I will share more later and if you have found Motsingers who simply didn't fit in our tree and date circa 1740 thru 1780, please let me know.
Thanks and Best Of Luck,
Carol
